The release includes - Use of the restricted pod security label ⇒ Pod security policies has been removed in k8s 1.25. In place, It brings Pod Security Standards into the picture. Introducing Stash v2023.08.18

We are pleased to announce the relase of Stash v2023.08.18 which includes a few bug fixes and improvments. You can find the complete changelog here . In this post, we are going to highlight the changes. Bug Fixes Resolved a bug causing MySQL 5.x.x restoration failure in group replication mode. The issue occurred while restoring databases with MyISAM storage engine tables. To address this, we now exclude system databases from the backup process.

KubeDB Health Checker In KubeDB v2022.08.08 , we’ve improved KubeDB database health checks and users can now control the behavior of the health checks performed by KubeDB. We’ve added a new field called healthChecker under spec. It controls the behavior of health checks. It has the following fields: spec.healthChecker.periodSeconds specifies the interval between each health check iteration. spec.healthChecker.timeoutSeconds specifies the timeout for each health check iteration. spec.healthChecker.failureThreshold specifies the number of consecutive failures to mark the database as NotReady.

A workaround of adding custom container to KubeDB managed Databases

Add custom containers in KubeDB managed Database Let’s assume you have a KubeDB managed Database deployed in your Kubernetes environment. Now, You want to inject a sidecar container in the database StatefulSet in order to extend and enhance the functionality of existing containers. Currently, KubeDB doesn’t have support for custom container insertion yet. We will discuss a workaround to run a custom container along with the managed-containers. Suppose, you are running a KubeDB-managed MySQL database, and you need to monitor the general query logs.

We are pleased to announce KubeDB v2021.03.17 . This post lists all the major changes done in this release since v2021.01.26. This release offers MariaDB support with Galera Clustering, Backup and Recovery, TLS and many more features. It also contains the fix for the PostgreSQL data loss issue. The support for the PostgreSQL TLS configuration and the support for official TimescaleDB images has also been added to this release.
